May 2025
With a new month comes new strength and fresh thoughts.
May every sunrise in this new month bring you closer to your dreams. Celebrate the simple, savor the extraordinary, and face what’s ahead with courage. Don’t just welcome the new month; thrive in it…. embrace the possibilities.
Welcome May! This month is about the happiness that unfolds as blossoms burst. Thoughts of summer begin to creep into our minds as the temps begin to balance out and away from the chills and spring’s stormy side and becomes tame.
May is filled with symbols that remind us of renewal and joy. The dainty bloom and fragrance of the Lily of the Valley teases our senses & brings smiles to our hearts from memories of people and places of our past.
May is also the month of possibility. We must believe all things are possible and God is able to deliver us from our distresses and manifest His Glory through us.
May is often seen as a month of grace and favor. It is a time to seek divine favor for the rest of the year.
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith –
and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.
Ephesians 2:8
This is the month to walk in grace. Pray for divine favor over your plans and ask God to guide you in every step.
May the Lord bless you and keep you.
Numbers 6:24
May the God of hope fill you with joy and peace as you trust him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Romans 15:13
May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
Second letter of Paul to the Corinthians 13:14
Energy needed for appreciating life more can be enhanced with an emerald stone. The guardians of May are Taurus and Gemini, bringing ambition and intellect. A message of good things to come rides on the wings of the hummingbirds return.
May is named after the Greek Goddess Maia, goddess of nature and the growing of plants. She was identified in the Roman era as Bona Dea, the goddess of fertility & motherhood.
Taurus 4/20-5/20. Represented by the bull. Taureans are intelligent, ambitious, and dependable and wonderful team members. They struggle with flexibility and authority, yet once they extend their trust, they prove to be loyal as well engaging and humorous friends.
Gemini 4/21-6/20. Represented by the celestial twins. Playful, smart, curious and sharp witted, the “Jack of all trades.” Total optimists and bounce back from setbacks quickly. Very talkative and sensitive. Despite their reputation of being two-faced, they are loyal. They struggle to express true feelings, hiding behind a mask to protect their vulnerabilities.

In Prayer
We pray for the repose of the soul of Pope Francis, who led with strong values of peace and justice for all God’s children. May he rest in peace and rise in glory. Amen.
We also pray for our Roman Catholic brothers and sisters in Christ as they mourn. May they cast all their cares on God and know the consolation of his love. Amen.
Your ‘yes’ to God requires your ‘no’ to all injustice, to all evil, to all lies, to all oppression and violation of the weak and poor…

Happenings around Epiphany
Holy Week was spiritually uplifting. Palm Sunday and Easter were nicely attended. Maundy Thursday and Good Friday…not so much.
The weather cooperated the entire week – a plus.
The sanctuary was lovely with all of your donated lilies. Thank You.
The Easter egg hunt was held with grown ups in mind. It was held in honor of Mary Shaffer, who started it but was not able to be with us this time around. Cheers, Mary! (Pun intended!!)
